The Friends of Seven Acres meets on a regular basis to complete conservation tasks on Seven Acres Local Nature Reserve in Breightmet/Tonge. There are volunteering opportunities available with the Seven Acres Squad (SAS) when spaces allow. The group also offers a range of walks, talks, and nature-based activities throughout the year and these will be advertised on our Facebook page. The Garstang Hub is a community allotments open to all ages, used by Bolton NEWT as a social HUB, the food grown is used by local residents with the surplus being donated to local food banks. First and foremost, the site is a HUB for people to socialize, enjoy a chat and enjoy a brew, the volunteering in running the community allotments is there for people who enjoy gardening and food growing. We also carry out woodworking projects such as building and creating the Remembrance Day display on Bury Road (with local Councillors) or creating the Halloween community event we host at the site.The Hub is open from:Wednesday 4pm till 7pm Saturday 11am till 2pm

Mini Giants is our Parent and Baby/Toddler group at Kings Church. We provide a safe environment with toys, activities, story time, music and snack. Pond dipping and river dipping sessions will be taking place throughout the summer. This is a family activity and is open to all ages and abilities. The sessions are designed to be fun but also provide an educational element with a focus on local wildlife. All equipment is provided and all that is required is suitable clothing and footwear (welly boots ideally), getting wet adds to the fun and the sessions often end with a play in the river. Booking is essential. Start times are flexible so please contact me to arrange a time suits
