Hi my name is Helen , I am a community champion for all areas within the Bolton borough. My passion to become a community champion has come from my own experience with Alcohol addiction. When I first came into recovery I had the fear of what’s next , not knowing where life was heading and through working hard on my own personal wellbeing I found that Bolton has so much to offer and so much support to help live a fun healthy, happy life . I have completed lots of courses through the local drugs and alcohol team including intuitive thinking and the ambassador course . I currently volunteer for an organisation called Next Steps and run there weekly women’s group making sure we always fit our five ways to wellbeing into the group to help maintain a healthy, happy life . I believe that connection is key and finding the right connection that works for you can help give a vision of what life ahead can be like and where better to do that than your local community. I have a child with additional needs and through my journey with him I have gained lots of knowledge of what is going on in the local area for help and support . I like horse riding , walking and self care is a must . If you are wanting to find out more information about what is going on in the area or just want to chat to see what available that can benefit you , then please do give me a call .
